Does MLR PreCheck replace Regulatory, Medical or Legal review?

No. MLR PreCheck is a pre-review tool. It helps Marketing and Marcomms teams catch obvious issues before formal Medical, Legal and Regulatory review, so the copy that reaches your reviewers is cleaner and closer to final. Formal MLR sign-off still sits with your Regulatory, Medical and Legal colleagues.

Is MLR PreCheck for medical devices or pharma?

Medical devices only. The rules engine is built around medical device guidance from the FDA, MHRA and ASA/CAP, Health Canada and the EU MDR and IVDR. It does not cover prescription drug promotion rules such as FDA OPDP or the ABPI Code, so it is not suitable for pharma marketing.

Which regions does it support?

Accepted Answer

The US (FDA), the United Kingdom (MHRA and ASA/CAP), Canada (Health Canada) and the EU (MDR and IVDR). You can run a check against a single region or against all regions at once.

What types of claims does it flag?

Accepted Answer

Anything that typically gets rewritten or rejected in MLR review: absolute safety or efficacy claims ('eliminates', 'risk-free'), unsubstantiated superiority claims ('best-in-class', 'leading'), comparative claims without evidence, vague endorsements ('trusted by hospitals worldwide') and intended-use language that drifts beyond the cleared or CE-marked indication. Red flags are high-risk wording, amber flags are claims worth a second look.

Does it use our copy to train AI models?

Accepted Answer

No. Your copy is never used to train MLR PreCheck's models or any third-party model. It is processed to produce your check and stored privately in your workspace.

Question 6

Can we upload Word documents?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can paste copy directly or upload a .docx file, up to 2,000 words per check.

Question 7

Can we export the final draft?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once you have worked through the flags, you can copy the final draft as plain text or download it as a .docx file. The original copy, the flags and the changes you accepted are saved as an audit trail against the check.

What happens to our uploaded copy?

It stays private to your company's workspace and is encrypted, both while it's being sent and while it's stored. Only people you invite can see it, we don't share it with other customers, and we never use it to train AI models.

How does billing work?

Simple: pick monthly or annual. Team is currently £197/month or £1,970/year, Business is currently £397/month or £3,970/year. Monthly plans are invoiced every month, annual plans are invoiced once a year and save 17%. You can cancel anytime from your billing settings.

How long does onboarding take?

We've found that medical device teams haven't needed an onboarding session, as MLR PreCheck is a simple, self-serve tool and you'll be up and running in about 2 minutes: sign up, paste your copy, run your first check. That said, if you'd like a guided onboarding call, or demo for your team, we're happy to arrange one at no cost. Just ask and we'll book a time that works.

How many people can we add to our workspace?

The Team plan includes up to 6 users and the Business plan includes up to 15 users. You can invite Marketing, Marcomms, Regulatory, Medical and Legal colleagues into the same workspace so everyone is working from the same checks and audit trail.

Question 12

How does the check allowance work?

Accepted Answer

Each plan has a shared team pool of checks that refreshes every 30 days. The Team plan gets 450 checks per 30 days (a guideline of 75 per user). The Business plan gets 1,500 checks per 30 days (a guideline of 100 per user). The 30-day clock starts the day you add a payment card and switch to a paid plan, not during the 14-day free trial. If you upgrade from Team to Business (or downgrade), the cycle resets that day with a fresh allowance on your new plan. Whoever runs the most checks isn't capped at the per-user number, the team-wide pool is what we enforce.

Can we cancel anytime?

Yes. There's no long-term contract on the Team or Business plans. Cancel from your billing settings and you'll keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. Enterprise terms are agreed in your contract.

Do you offer a free trial?

Yes. Team and Business plans include a 14-day free trial with no payment card required and no commitment. You get the full product so you can run real copy through it before deciding.

How accurate are the flags?

MLR PreCheck is a pre-review aid, not a replacement for your reviewers. It catches the wording patterns that typically get rewritten in MLR review (absolute claims, unsubstantiated superiority, off-label drift, vague endorsements) and cites the clause each flag maps to. Final judgement on edge cases still sits with your Regulatory, Medical and Legal colleagues.

Is our data secure?

Yes. Copy is encrypted in transit and at rest, scoped privately to your company's workspace, and only visible to people you invite. We don't share it with other customers and we never use it to train AI models.
